At UCLA Berkeley, the Neuroscience Program is known for its interdisciplinary focus, blending psychology, biology, engineering, and beyond. As part of their outreach, they often host events designed to help prospective students explore the program and meet the people behind it.

Beyond Bullet Points

Rather than relying on slideshows and formal presentations, the department wanted a more human, engaging way to connect—especially for students who couldn’t attend in person. They weren’t just selling a program; they were building a bridge into a vibrant academic community.

Creating a Campus Without Borders

On Gatherly, attendees weren’t passive observers—they were explorers. The space was divided into interactive zones where faculty discussed their research, current students answered questions informally, and guests could revisit areas that piqued their interest. The design invited movement, spontaneity, and real dialogue.

In the end, students left not only with answers, but with a sense of belonging. The platform made it possible for them to envision themselves inside the program, not just learning about it from the outside.
